2020 has been a whirlwind year for everybody and we're nearly coming to the end. We are so excited to have been able to prepare for an end of year concert. Some other Australian states have not been this lucky and we are very grateful all the Mackay studios have been able to give their students a show to strut their stuff. Blessed to be QLDers!
Fame has embraced the positive side of Covid restrictions, (We have sunny dispositions like that) and decided to opt for a 'festival style' of concert with an outdoor show at the Mackay Botanic Gardens Meadowlands Amphitheatre. Just think 'Big Night Out' for kids.... Food trucks and all. I hear it's going to be a beautiful starry night with a cool breeze. Anyone else get that forecast? You attract what you think remember.
Mid Year, 2020 saw Dolly Louw step up from business partner to sole owner of Fame Talent School and has been shuffling her way as Principal of the FAMEstars ever since. It's been a big year of learning and cleaning. Lots of cleaning. I don't think our ballet barres have ever shined so much.
We were given a fantastic opportunity for growth in 2021 when Ready Set Dance invited us to become an official location. We jumped at the chance! It's also a popular early childhood TV program that features on Nick Jr. everyday and children all around the country love to participate in these classes. We feel so lucky to be a part of the Ready Set Dance team.
In 2021, we also welcome back Fame Talent School graduate, Lilly Hayes as she is going to be running the Ready Set Dance program for us. She certainly is the perfect fit for this syllabus. The Ready Set Dance students will be lucky to have Lilly as their nurturing and fun teacher.
After finishing grade 12, Lilly moved to the Gold Coast to continue her dance studies at LAUNCH Performing Arts. She will graduate next month and make her way back to Mackay to begin teaching.
We were also thrilled when 2018 Fame Talent School graduate returned to Mackay early this year to continue her university studies online. This meant she could come back to her FAMEily and teach. May-Lee has been taking the Tiny FAMEstars and Junior Contemporary classes this year. We have been so lucky to have May back in the Village.
We're on the countdown now with 2.5 weeks left until showtime and holidays around the corner. I'm sure we're all going to need a big rest after the year that was 2020.
Peace out.
