Dolly Louw

PRINCIPAL

Dolly Louw trained in classical, tap, jazz, contemporary and music theatre at Theatre Arts Mackay under the direction and mentorship of Lynette Denny. She graduated in 1995 with Advanced RAD and Gold Cross Tap CSTD. In her early career, she was a member of QLD Young Dancers and appeared in many stage productions as a young student.

​

As an established dancer, she travelled worldwide and throughout Australia performing with an array of companies, in various roles. Most notably, Dolly worked as a profession dancer in the stage show Mystique at Conrad Jupiters Casino, Gold Coast, 1996.

​

She was also employed with Warner Bros. Movie World as a dancer before accepting a lead role for Sydney Showtime Productions in Thailand and later travelling onto Europe and Paris.

Following this, Dolly spent six years with the American based company Carnival Cruiseline where she worked as a dance captain and lead dancer and travelled the world in this capacity.

Dolly is now married and a mother of two and has spent the last nine years working in a variety of teaching and choreographing roles. She has worked under the direction of Lynette Denny at TAM as a ballet and jazz teacher. She has taught Cabaret and Jazz at CQU University, choreographed Legally Blonde for MMCP and choregraphed Graeme Connors 2016 film clip ‘Sixty Seconds of Summer’.

Dolly became co-principal of Fame Talent School in 2016 and in mid 2020, Dolly took over complete ownership of the studio.

​

Since the new role of Principal, Dolly was successful in obtaining the hit early childhood dance program, Ready Set Dance for 2021.

​

In 2021, Dolly studied the Professional Dancers Post Graduate Teaching Certificate (PDPTC) under her mentor, Diane Wootton with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD). This course is designed for people that have had a professional dance career that wish to enhance their knowledge in teaching pedagogy. 

​

Dolly is excited to see where she can take Fame Talent School in 2024.

Diane Wootton

CLASSICAL BALLET & LIMBER TEACHER

Diane is an experienced and passionate dance instructor with more than 40 years of involvement with dancing, teaching and the performing arts.

​

Diane began her career as a student of The Warralong Dance Centre where she successfully gained her Advanced RAD Certificate at the age of 15, followed by her R.A.D. Teaching Certificate in 1992. Throughout her dancing years she was privileged to have been trained by many distinguished choreographers and to perform with dancers in a variety of different styles and in multiple Eisteddfods.

​

Diane was also a member of the QLD Young Dancers Company, travelling and performing in many towns throughout QLD, over a number of years. At the age of 12, Diane commenced student teaching after realising her passion for trainng and mentoring younger students. In her late twenties, she added Tap dancing to her repertoire, successfully completing all Senior C.S.T.D. Tapping Examinations. Diane has gone on to teach tap, ballet, jazz, contemporary, limber, conditioning and fitness classes to students of all ages.

​

Diane’s love of performing is not only limited to dance, having also studied piano, drama and singing for many years. Her involvement with the performing arts has led to many exciting opportunities including television advertisements, musicals, modelling, and corporate event appearances. Diane has been actively involved in several MMCP Productions culminating with the female lead role in 'Half a Sixpence’.

​

Diane is a very talented choreographer having been invited to choreograph multiple events for Musical Theatre, Corporate Events, Rock Pop Mimes, Eisteddfods, Theatre Restaurants, Wakakirri and other school performances.

​

In 2021, Diane became an accredited teacher with the new Progressive Ballet Technique Syllabus. 

​

Diane is excited to teach her students at Fame Talent School again in 2024.

Margot McKendry

TAP TEACHER

Margot studied ballet, tap and jazz at Warralong Dance Centre and Theatre Arts Mackay for 14 years.  She was employed as a dance teacher at TAM where she gained her CSTD Teachers Diploma in Tap. 

 

Margot worked as an entertainer at Warner Bros Movie World on the Gold Coast. 

 

Margot's  performing career also took her to Asia as well as performing throughout Australia. 

 

She has experience as a tap and jazz teacher at leading dance schools in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.

 

Margot has performed in many stage productions as well as choreographed musicals for MMCP. 

 

Margot has been teaching groups, solos and the Tapatak Oz syllabus for the past 7 years at Fame Talent School and choreographed a Wakkakirri performance for St Mary’s Primary School.

​

She is currently studying nursing at CQU so you might come across her at the hospital one day. You'll have to ask her to do a tap dance for you.

 

Margot aka SUPER COACH,  is looking forward to another year with the Fame students in 2024.

May Lee Wilson

Ready Set Dance, Contemporary & Relief

May-Lee has been dancing for 15 years studying Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary and Acro. Her passion for dancing being extended when she began teaching with Fame in 2018. 

 

May-Lee has completed examinations in both Jazz and Contemporary with high marks across the board. She has also been able to take part in events such as the Australian Dance Festival and Dance North workshops where she learnt from some of the best industry professionals. 

 

Through her years May-Lee has been able to work alongside and learn routines from renowned choreographers such as Jason Winters, Yvette Lee, Lauren Seymour and Ryan Thompson. 

 

May-Lee hopes that through teaching her passion for dance can be passed on and that her students can build a love for the arts just as she has. 

​

She is looking forward to teaching the FAMEstars again in 2023.

Lindsay Hains

Singing, Guitar, Small Vocal Groups

Prior to completing her Bachelor of Music Theatre degree in 2013. Lindsay received a Distinction for her ATCL Diploma in Speech and Drama through Trinity College London (2010) and successfully auditioned for Gondwana Voices Australia from years 2005 – 2007 and performed ‘War Requiem’ by Benjamin Britton with the choir at the Sydney Opera House also in 2007.

​

Whilst studying her degree, she was cast in the following CQCM Productions, Sweet Charity, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Chess, Brigadoon and 42nd Street.

​

After completing her Music Theatre degree, she went on to compete a Graduate Diploma of Learning and Teaching and has since taught in England and Australia.

​

In 2016, Lindsay won the Charters Towers Country Music Festival as a soloist and made it to the Semi-Finals of the Gympie Muster in her duo band ‘JenWild’.

​

She specializes in teaching singing, guitar, keyboard and drama. Vocally, Lindsay teaches a range of genres;

Pop/Modern, Music Theatre, Classical, Country Jazz and Soul and is looking forward to working with Fame students in 2024.

Brandi Illguth

Singing & Keyboard

Brandi is a dedicated musician who completed her Bachelor of Music (Jazz and Popular) with Distinction at CQU in 2017 and is currently in the process of completing her Master of Teaching (Secondary).

She has achieved her Grade 7 AMEB Classical Piano exam and Grade 5 AMEB theory exam as well as having performed in many eisteddfods.

 

Throughout her music degree, Brandi had the opportunity to perform in several shows at the CON. Brandi has been teaching music privately for four years and has had students compete in the Mackay Eisteddfod.

Brandi promotes a safe, happy and fun learning environment for all ages and abilities offering a repertoire of music styles such as classical, sacred, popular and musical theatre.

 

Brandi has a passion for music and is keen to impart her joy and love of music to all who are wanting to
